Sharing the Magic of Live Theatre...

Connie Carpenter Voelker has joined
Board of Directors.

Connie brings a lifelong love of theater with both Performance and Board experience to the Yuba-Sutter area. Her educational background includes degrees in Theater Performance from UCSB and a Juris Doctorate in Law. Connie has served as Board Member and Secretary, Sacramento Ballet Association, Board Member and Secretary of the Santa Paula (California) Theater Center, and Development Coordinator for North Coast Repertory Theater in Solana Beach, California. She is very impressed with The Acting Company's accomplishments and the Yuba-Sutter community interest in and support of theater activities. Connie and her husband Steve have relocated from Southern California to the Yuba-Sutter area in order for Steve to join with community leaders in the formation of Sutter Community Bank (In Organization) which will serve the area as a locally-owned and operated community bank. It is slated to open in the second quarter of this year. They, and their dog Gidget (a Yorkie) and two cats (Natashka and Bella) are excited about becoming an active part of the community.

The Acting Company has taken a big leap forward
in servicing our theater patrons
by hiring a part-time Theater Manager.
John Elliott accepted the position
and began offering box office hours in January.

Patrons may now purchase tickets, sign up for Children's Theater
and take care of any other theater needs in person
during the new office hours of
Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 12-2 p.m.
Elliott will be responsible for all patron, business, and community relations, as well as, day-to-day operations. Elliott came to Yuba-Sutter from Santa Cruz to house sit for a friend in 2002 and stumbled into The Acting Company while getting acquainted with the Yuba City/Marysville area. Within a month he was starring in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum as Hysterium. Since then, John has appeared in eight Acting Company theater productions, served as Stage Manager, Lighting Technician and most recently adapted and directed Scrooge in December 2005. He joined The Acting Company Board of Directors in August 2005. Elliott is also an indpendent tax consultant and has acted and volunteered for community theater in Santa Cruz and the Bay Area.
