Cristina
Paulson-Louk
An
innovative and passionate artist, Cristina Paulson-Louk, returns
to the Yuba Sutter arts community with an inspired approach. She
has worked on a variety of multi-disciplinary projects including
theatre and films and is an accomplished dancer, actor, and choreographer.
In addition to choreographing The Acting Companys current production
of FAME, Cristina owns the dance studio, California Dance Scape,
and teaches dance at the Marysville Charter Academy for the Arts
(MCAA). In 2004, she collaborated with Andrew Smith and choreographed
West Side Story for MCAA.
From
1998 to 2003, Cristina Paulson-Louk coached the dance team, The
Marchais, in the Bay Area. By creating a strong technical team,
she was able to experiment with various styles to great success.
In 2001, the Marchais were selected to dance with Destiny's Child
during a televised New Year's Eve football game.
Prior
to her work in the Bay Area, Cristina Paulson-Louk relocated to
Los Angeles to pursue a career in the film industry. She quickly
signed with the prestigious Dorothy Day Otis Agency and began
to study film acting with Sal Romeo. During this time she worked
in such films as Locker 47 which was produced by Area Albert,
daughter of famed Herb Albert of the Tijuana Brass, as well as
Sunset Junction and Kill Madonna.

During the early 1990's
Cristina Paulson-Louk danced with the Dance Theatre West at Broadway Academy
and with Metro under the direction of Keith Goings at Step 1, both in
Sacramento. She also performed in the Pajama Game with the Davis Musical
Theatre and Comedy of Errors at American River.
Prior to graduating
from Gridley High School in 1990, Cristina Paulson-Louk danced for the
Chico Community Ballet under the direction of Debbie Jorritsma, as well
as toured California on the Competition and pageant circuits. In 1990,
Ms. Paulson-Louk was awarded 2nd runner up in the Miss Butte County Pageant
and was awarded the overall talent award.
Cristina Paulson-Louk
is excited to be back in this area and to be working the wonderful talent
this area produces. Her studio, California Dance Scape is located at 580
N. Palora Avenue, where she offers classes in jazz, Hip Hop, ballet, Pointe,
and tap. She also has a competitive dance team. Classes are year round
